antidisestablishmentarianism

so, i was right again. i know, it's not news, or anything; i usually am. but since nobody else seems to like to point it out...
the conversation went @ like this:
"antidisestablishmentarianism."
"so that means you're for the man."
"no, not necessarily."
"yeah, man. look: i'm the man. if you're not against me, you're for me, dude."

antidisestablishmentarianism
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: originally, opposition to the disestablishment of the Church of England, now opposition to the belief that there should no longer be an official church in a country

i remember when you guys were kids i used to tell you that was the longest word in the dictionary. that's not true anymore, or maybe it never was.

now that supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is in the dictionary, i think it might be the longest word in a "regular" (non-medical and non-scientific) dictionary.

btw, this past summer we taught Lacey a "word of the day" every day. she got a big kick out of learning about symbiotic relationships, pontification, prognostication, and triscadecaphobia.

we also taught her Occam's Razor (also spelled Ockham's Razor and sometimes misspelled Achem's Razor), which states, "numquam ponendo est pluritas sine necessitate" [latin]. the english translation [translated, expanded, and adapted] states, "for a given problem, with all things being equal, the simplist solution is usually the correct one".

kids are the best, they can learn anything !!!!

so, chris, is your fight against those fighting against the church of england just for england or do you hope to establish the anglican church as the church of america, as well?
